Meaning of a Bear
Southwest- Navajo |
The symbol of a bear is for strength, introspection and well-being. The bear represents the power of the soul. The bear track stands for protection. A bear with the arrow in the middle stands for longevity. The bear among all Native Americans is known as the spirit bear. The Native American legends tell of magical spirits that dwell within the forms of small carved animals. The most powerful of these spirits, strength and well-being, are found in the form of the bear. Wear the Spirit Bear....feel the magic. Strength and well-being are yours!

| Bear is the great healer of the spirit. In some traditions, Bear is the spirit keeper of the West... the place of adulthood, autumn... and a good harvest. Bear is connected with the setting sun, the thunderers, water and introspection. Bear has the ability to look within the spirit and discover weaknesses which require healing. In Cherokee legend, bears know of a mountainside lake that heals all injuries. |
